Orbitals location in Perth Western
Australia has been used by some of its customers as base for conducting
in-field hot tests. With daytime average temperatures of 30-40oC
from January to March, the reasonably large city centre serves as
a base for performing hot city cycles with the convenience of Orbitals
facilities nearby. In land and to the north, regional centres such
as Newman offer similar climatic conditions to places such as Alice
Springs, already popular with OEMs.

Orbital
staff have participated in hot and cold trip support since the engineering
sign-off of the Genesis 2s platform in 1995. In many cases however,
testing can be expedited by making use of Orbitals onsite
environmental chambers capable of cooling or heating running engines
or complete vehicles to environmental extremes, whilst offering
complete data acquisition.
If you are looking for testing in new locations,
fitting in a second hot-trip to the calendar year, or want to carry
out your environmental sign-off without leaving the test cell, Orbital
has a number alternatives on offer.
