ORBITAL PRESENTING PAPER ON HYDROGEN
DIRECT INJECTION COMBUSTION
Orbital will be presenting a technical paper
at the annual Society of Automotive Engineering Powertrain &
Fluid Systems Conference and Exhibition, October 29 - 31, 2007 being
held at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, Rosemont (Chicago),
Illinois, USA.
This key industry event assembles powerplant
design engineers and engine fluid experts in an open forum to exchange
technical information, share ideas, address challenges and develop
business opportunities. Blending a solid foundation in the conventional
spark ignition (SI) and compression ignition (CI) technologies with
advanced alternative power sources, the cutting-edge technical program
will feature more than 200 papers and presentations by top policymakers.
Orbital's paper, titled "Dilution Strategies
for Load and NOx Management in an Hydrogen Fuelled Direct Injection
Engine" presents Orbital's recent Research and Development
in direct injection with Hydrogen.
Hydrogen represents one of the range of fuels
that can be used by the Orbital "FlexDI" system
developed for "one engine, any fuel" applications.
Hydrogen fuel is a one of the long term fuel options for the Internal
Combustion Engine, and demonstrates the versatility of the Orbital
Combustion System to operate with a wide range of fuel types. This
paper will be made available on Orbital's web-site when published.
