SYNERJECT SYSTEM POWERS THE NEW
DUCATI 696 MOTORCYCLE
Ducati have just released the new Ducati "Monster
696" motorcycle for the European and US market, the first Ducati
product to utilise an Engine Management System (EMS) supplied by
Synerject.
The new two cylinder engine has the highest
power to displacement ratio of Ducati's air cooled engine range
with power of 80 Hp (56 kW) and torque of 50.6 lb ft (68.6 nm).
The new motorcycle uses Synerject's new M3C
Electronic Control Unit (ECU), designed by Synerject and manufactured
by Continental Automotive (previously SiemensVDO), along with Continental
electronic port fuel system components supplied by Synerject.
The M3C ECU is the most powerful and versatile
"electronic brain" of Synerject's new family of M3 ECUs
designed for a wide range of multi-cylinder and performance applications
across the motorcycle and recreational global market.
Synerject, a 50:50 JV partnership between
Orbital and Continental, has developed a range of ECU's for the
non-automotive market to support both port and direct injection
applications.
Please see Orbital's Hot-Links page for more
details of the motorcycle.
