ORBITAL PARTICIPATION IN THE
SMALL ENGINE TECHNOLOGY CONFERENCE
Orbital attended and presented technical papers
at the Small Engine Technology Conference ("SETC") held
recently at Niigata, Japan on October 29th to 31st 2007.
The SETC conference is an international event
bringing together participants from all key countries in the world
to discuss and present new technologies and developments across
a wide range of non automotive engine products, from motorcycles
and outboards though to general purpose industrial and the hand
held lawn and garden products.
With the ever increasing emission control being
implemented for non-auto engines on a global basis, the SETC conference
has taken on the role as a leading forum for the non automotive
engine industry, with the theme for this 13th SETC conference being
"Sustainable Mobility - Energy Conserving for the Future".
Orbital presented two technical papers at this
SETC conference reporting on developments at Orbital to investigate
future emission control well beyond the most stringent outboard
emissions in place today, and in the development of a new concept
engine for performance vehicles such as All Terrain Vehicles (ATV's)
and motorcycles. The papers are entitled "Beyond 3 Star Emission
Capability for Outboard Engines" and "A Fresh Approach
to the Design of Clean Engines for the Performance Motorcycle Market"
and will be available on Orbital's web-site after publication.
