ENGINE SHANGHAI 2007
Orbital will be presenting
a technical paper and exhibiting at the 4TH SHANGHAI INTERNATIONAL
ENGINE & MANUFACTURING TECHNOLOGY EXHIBITION being held this
week in Shanghai.
This premier event, sponsored by the China
Internal Combustion Engine Industry Association (CICEIA) and China
Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), showcases the latest
in production engine developments and services to the engine industry.
China is undergoing a rapid technology change
in response to not only the ever more stringent Chinese EPA emission
requirements, but also in the very important export market. Many
OEM's across a wide range of engine manufacturing from automotive
through to lawn&garden products are seeking to introduce new
engine designs or to refurbish existing engine lines. These updated
designs and technologies are required to meet today's criteria of
both the emission requirement and the customer expectations for
fuel economy and general refinement of the engine.
Dr Rod Houston, Orbital's Chief Executive Officer,
will be presenting a paper titled "Sustainability in Transportation:
Gaseous Fuelling for Future Engines" on the opening day of
the exhibition. The paper discusses Orbital's experiences with gaseous
injection (CNG, LPG, Hydrogen) as it could be applied to the Chinese
engine products. The display stand, staffed by 4 Orbital employees,
enables Orbital to showcase and present a wide range of skills and
services that it can offer to the Chinese engine OEM's, ranging
from base engine design through to advanced emission and combustion
control systems across a broad spectrum of applications from automotive
through to general purpose industrial engines.
