ORBITAL AWARDED BEST INTERNATIONAL
PAPER AT SAE BRAZIL CONGRESS
At the recent SAE Congress BRAZIL 2007, Orbital's
paper and presentation "The Effect of E100
Water Content on High Load Performance of a Spray Guide Direct Injection
Boosted Engine " presented by Mr Simon Brewster was awarded
the Best International paper.
The SAE Congress BRAZIL is recognised as one
of the major engineering events in the Southern Hemisphere with
over 8,000 visitors attending the 190 technical presentations and
the exhibition.
Orbital's paper was of specific interest to
the Brazilian engineering community as Brazil is the world leader
in use of ethanol/gasoline fuels for everyday vehicles, with 100%
ethanol widely available at retail outlets since the 1970's and
Flex Fuel vehicles now dominating the light-duty market.
The E100 and other
alcohol fuel programs are a key part of the development of the Orbital
FlexDI™ "One Engine - Any Fuel" systems. These programs
are driven by optimisation of engine performance, economy and emissions
with a single engine architecture for the full range of alternate
fuels, including dry and wet ethanol.
